Default Too many apples

Yes I have done it again...................

Instead of ordering 7 FUji Apples with my online shopping I ordered 7 kilos.....
Hahahahahahahahahahaha hmmmmmm

So all the recipes I am looking up use maybe 1 or 2 apples. I could make a full apple pie which would use 10 but seriously does anyone have any other ideas.

Maybe an apple sauce that I could freeze in portions and then use over time.
Anyone have a recipe for this idea.

It was very funny this morning when hubby was leaving for work saying....."Hon, please stop hiding the apples, I can't find them and I know you got some".................there are 7 bags sitting on my kitchen bench waiting for their fate.

Thanks and you can stop laughing now.

Ps they were only $4.50 a kilo

Thanks Milena, Great idea putting up my 1st over order I forgot that part.
Cath, very true imagine the expense and fridge space needed for salmon and not much I could do with that many mushrooms.

Give a bag to each of your neighbours and then stockpile Apple Crumble in the Freezer for dessert, yum!

Lol at what your DH said, mine would say something like that......

Rofl- you are too funny Elements.
I don't who else would do this once let alone twice.
Do you even like baking?
Maybe you could make a dessert like muffins or little apple pies, freeze them and give them as Christmas presents to people.
Your DH is very witty. I'm glad he see the humour in it.

Right, I have been baking 1/2 successfully. I have peeled, cored and chopped 2kg of apples and I have 12 apple and cimanon(Mr2 has it backwards) muffins, and 500 ml of slightly burnt apple sauce.
I had dreams of bottling my famous apple sauce with wonderful Christmas tags as little gifts, but NO I was to busy peeling a second kilo of apples to try and make turnovers
So no famous sauce just a little bit of slightly burnt sauce and a pot to spend time scrubbing.
I am thinking I can still use the sauce in making some cookies, thoughts.
Hahahaha, still laughing its just now more maniacal(sp)

But surely you have enough apples to make another batch of sauce?
I'm not much of a cook but if you used the burnt sauce in some cookies I would think they might just taste burnt too. Better to ditch that batch and start again.

Cut puff pastry sheets into quarters and place half an apple worth of super thin slices onto each puff pastry square. Sprinkle with brown sugar and a bit of cinnamon and bake until puff pastry is done. So simple and delicious

That sounds yummy Thisisme. It reminds me of something my MIL used to make for DH when he was younger and unhealthy. She made apple jaffles. Jaffles for you young things are like toasted sandwiches but the edges were sealed by the machine. I guess it would work with a grill press. I think she added cinnamon sugar over the apple slices- which was sandwiched between 2 slices of white bread. Served with ice cream. Poor hubby never gets such nightly treats like this yummy anymore- I am so bossy about healthy eating.
