Default Tiamo Cafe, Carlton, Melbourne

We went to this great little Italian cafe/restaurant last night. Thanks Rosie and Dixiemum for the suggestion. It was so good. We went early as we were warned it can get busy. We got a table straight away.
We ordered a pizza with olive oil, salt and rosemary for starters. The pizza base was so light- amazingly yummy.
Then I ordered gnocchi, Mr18 spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and chilli and DH Veal Parmigana. I did warn DH that they are most famous for their pasta and pizza. He said his meal was average. But the gnocchi and spaghetti were sensational. Mr18 and I are trying to decide if it is the 2nd or 3rd best gnocchi we have ever tasted in the world. I gave it 2nd best.
Then the men ordered desserts that were called Zuppa Inglese but tasted exactly like Tiramisu. Which was great because they love Tiramisu.
Great place, great service, fantastic food. Only negative were all the hungry people staring at you whilst they waited for a table.
It is at 303 Lygon St, Carlton.

P.S. We went to Fitzroy before this. We stopped in front of the Clear It outlets. Mr18 went in to the mens section. It was all Jack London which is the only brand of clothes he gets excited about. 90 mins and $330 later we emerged. All the shops were closing and it was dark. Oh well we will have to check out Fitzroy another time. I thought the shops stayed open later her in Melbourne.

Most shops close at 5.30 of a weekday here in Melbourne with later opening times on Thursday (some stores only), Friday nights (to 9pm). Weekend usually 10-5pm. Street shops are a bit different than centres.... and DFO is I think 10-6pm everyday....

Glad Mr 18 found his shopping groove here in Melbourne. The Clear it outlet I go to for my boys. I know they are only 5 & 3 but the bags from Dangerfield and revival are cool for"nappy bags" and I get then cool scarves and bits and pieces which I modify for littlies... Mr 5 has the coolest punk style fingerless gloves to keep his arms warm (bad circulation) and yes they are for groovy young males but never too early to start.
By the way Clear It has an online store for non Melbourne peeps

Thanks for the link to the Jack London clearance store Rosie. I think you have just saved me a fortune. Of course now I can spend that on homewares right???
