Did you like those shutters
A-M showed on her blog that have been used on The Block? By pure coincidence I saw this in a magazine the day before A-M and I visited Katrina at The Block.
Absolute Balustrades in Perth are selling them. I am sure there will be suppliers in other states.
Here is what Absolute Balustrades say about the shutters:
Made from powder-coated reinforced aluminium, SureSafe Shutters are available in a hinged, sliding or bi-fold design.
They are lockable and easy to operate – with aerofoil louvres allowing plenty of light and air indoors. Not only are they extremely secure but their sleek design and stylish good looks make them ideal for both traditional and contemporary settings. Durable and maintenance-free, the shutters will not crack, shrink or warp. A suitable alternative to blinds and curtains, the shutters can improve the resale value of a home. PatioSafe louvres are a related product designed for patios, pergolas, carports, gazebos, entertaining areas, balcony ends, offices, courtyards – anywhere you need to control privacy and weather.
I had a chat to a lovely lady at the company and she was telling me although they are primarily used for external purposes they have installed them in to homes internally. So they simply replace a traditional timber Plantation Shutter. Prices vary from the basic shutter at $550 per m2 to $650 per m2.
Having seen these up close I can tell you I was very impressed by the quality of them

. They may be worth checking out.
