Default Storing Photos and other organising tips

Hey guys,
Have been madly trying to get some order to the kaos of my life and have been doing some organisation over the last few days and wanted to hear how you guys store things.

We had about twenty albums of photos from my our (Mr RR and I) baby pictures, holiday pictures, wedding, kids, travel.

I looked at the full shelf in my entertainment unit and thought where are these going to go in the new house when the monster entertainment unit bites the dust. We do have an attic but I still thought it looked like a lot to store so I ruthlessly ripped apart the never looked at albums and then went through and chose only the photos that I loved to keep and shock horror ripped up the rest and binned them..

Has anyone ever done this. Remember the days of taking your film down to K-Mart and getting your prints and then keeping all of them and the negatives...and sometimes you would have paid up to $24.00 for a roll of over exposed awful photos..

These days we only print photos we are going to frame up or put in an album. Saves so much printing...

But anyway I wonder how people store their photos, and how they feel about throwing out photos....

After keeping the boys albums and the wedding albums I was still left with a large tub of prints which I am going to go through again and then was thinking about scanning them but that sounds like a huge job so perhaps they will just stay in the tub in the attic....

Ok enough waffle...your turn:

OMGosh. You are so brave Rosie. I don't know if I could do that unless I knew we still had the negatives.
We keep a lot of photos and negatives in 2 boxes the size of shoe boxes. The photos in albums I have mostly scanned and put on to the computer. We have about 10 albums on the bookcase. But I love using my computer as a digital photo frame. If I could find a digital photo frame that went with my Hamptons/French decor I would use that instead.

Good on you for being so productive Rosie.
