Default Something precious

Is there anything that you just couldn't throw away? Something that's precious to you.
I have a strand of pearls- fake pearls so they are worthless- that my Great Grandma wore. When she died my mum gave them to me. I could never throw them out.
When my Grandma died my Dad said I could have 1 painting of hers - she was an artist. I chose a painting that I will never be able to hang up because it is very orange and my DH has issues with orange. But I chose it because I knew it was the painting she was the most proud of. Maybe Mr17 will have it one day and actually hang it up.
Actually there are quite a few things that we have that are so precious to us we have specified in our wills that the child is not allowed to sell them until he is 25yrs old & hopefully appreciates them.

Default Something Precious

I think you should hang the picture!! Just give DH sunglasses! I could NEVER throw out my Dear Mum's jumpers and cardigans she knitted for me 30 years ago. She knitted baby things for my babies, but she never got to see my babies. They are VERY special. There is a cooking class cap from school my best Friend Cheryl lent me, she died 32 years ago. It is still in my bed side table. My childrens special baby clothes. A cot blank my hubby sewed all by himself. We have so many special memories.

At this stage I would have t o say some of the things that I have kept from my childhood - dolls and teddies.
And also some precious clothes of my Angel son Samuel's..... things I knew he just loved and adored and wore with pride.

I will add a picture of something he made in the two weeks before he died that I will never ever part with.
Samuel was so so very proud the day he bought it home from school. The same day he learnt that his reading had improved - sadly Samuel had lots of probs with adhd/autism/intellectual disability etc.... but he is/was the most loving kind hearted lil man .....

Such beautiful stories girls. I don't really have anything sentimental except my little boys drawings and love notes to me. My Mum never passed anything down to me, nor my Grandma... poverty does that to you! ... so my boy's little hand made treasures will be with me until the grave! A-M xx

Photos.. I am pretty obsessed with them (but it seems normal because i do it for a living and i am expected to be careful with images)..

Lochies baby clothes. I cant part with them yet. I have whole sets of clothes (ok not BABY stuff but pretty much samples from every age and stage AND the baby clothes).. and photos of him IN those clothes packed into boxes..

I take a photo of him at exactly 8:23am on his birthday (the time he was born). I realised looking at the photos.. we don't still have most things IN the photos .. his birthday shots (and other photos taken that day).. cover 4 homes. Almost everything in every shot has been replaced (how expensive! when I thought about it)...

I am not overly precious about stuff... people are what is important.

I think that is so lovely to take the photo at the exact time he was born Lanne.
I couldn't do that as Mr17 was born at 9.35pm Belgium time and 3.35am Perth time- I'm asleep at either time. Party animal that I am - not
