We went/are going with gloss cabinetry for everything. MrB tells me that scratches are a lot easier to buff out/polish on gloss. They are also a lot less noticable when patched up, whereas it is impossible to get a satin look with a brush... or something along those lines ... I can't quite remember what he said as it was a while ago *shy*

I told my husband about gloss and satin, and he said that's the last of our worries lol.

Abigail are you glad you went with Gloss?
LOL, unfortunately he is probably right.

I will take a photo tomorrow, as I said the room is very tiny, not sure how much/little of the room I will get.

I'm also not sure about TIM's comment about patching damage, as the finish is quite thick I think it would have to be a hard knock with something sharp or with a sharp corner (like a plasterer's ladder - yes I had that happen ) & that is unlikely in a bathroom, I would have to see test damages patched before believing that shiny would not stand out especially with lights on as they are so reflective but that is the cynic in me LOL.

Hi New home,
Yes, I'm pleased I chose the gloss. It suits are modern home and as the cabinets are just plain it is very easy to wipe over. Our walls are shiny gloss white tiles and our floors are honed grey porcelain.

Hi NewHome, here are some photos, not sure how much you can tell from them!

The last photo shows my gloss linen cupboard doors, which reflects the whole bathroom (can only see the window in photo), you won't have that with satin, I also find the gloss doors show marks/finger prints just like any other shiny surface. The lights are on in the second photo, not much difference with reflections other than they are reflected in the basin

I've also used satin etched glass in my shower screen as it shows water splashes less & the outside window for privacy but they really compliment the satin cabinet and are a way of introducing other less reflective surfaces to the room if you want to give the satin finish some more thought.

Thank you. There are not a lot of options for a bathroom 1.5m x 2.2m especially if you want a bath but after a lot of planning I think it has turned out really well, I just need to get the mirror cabinet installed

Your bathroom is divine Sooty. It turned out so well. Are you happy with it now? Did they fix the joins?

Thank you. There are a few things that weren't how I wanted/specified but still very pleased with the overall result, now I just need to get my mirrored cabinet rehung.

Yes the Corian join was fixed, I can tell at the very edges where the join is but no one else would pick it The crack in the laundry bench top was too close to the wall to fix so that was replaced with the added benefit of being able to fix the architect's flawed design
