Default Robot vacuum

I thought this was amazing -so I rushed out and bought one.

It was at Harvey Norman's. Normally priced at $579 but the lady gave it to me for $530. I thought that was a bargain until my Mum went a couple of days later and got hers for $500.

It does a great job. I would say as good as my expensive power head vacuum.

But it doesn't do corners and tight areas so well. It also needs you to lift all the cords out of the way. And it bumps into things - so I always move my candelabra.

I love it. Now I need one to do the ironing, the cooking....

Their website probably explains it best

http://store.irobot.com/category/ind...vacuumcleaning

or

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5hUF8WO3A8

But basically this cute little creature will go around the house vacuuming for 1 hour and then it needs to rest for an hour, then you push the button and it goes again.

You get this other item that can place a laser beam over an area and the vacuum wont go past the beam.

I like to keep him in small areas by using the beam or shutting doors - I find he does a better job.

He does miss tight areas and some corners - so every now and then you need to use the normal vacuum and go over these areas.

It is incredible!

Haven't seen one before! Wow! But I am not sure I could handle the no corners etc because I would end up doing it again. Do you have to?

No it actually does a fantastic job- better than my $600 Electrolux. I just sweep out the corners before it starts and let it rip. I can't remember the last time we used the big vacuum cleaner. It is brilliant on timber floors for keeping away dust bunnies. He is called Jeeves. My mum calls hers Sadie
There is a mop version as well that I would love to buy- it's called Scooba.

Ok that sounds good. Love the names hahaha! I will have to see one on display at Harvey Norman one day when I am up there. I am due for a new vacuum. Mine don't last long because I use it so much! How does it go on carpet?

I have seen that before Julie-Ann on TVSN, they have it for $499.00 pretty sure you can pay it off too. Was wondering how they went on timber floors.

It is brilliant on timber floors and tiles- no scratches.
But it is even better on carpet. It beats up the carpet better than the power head on my vacuum cleaner. I am addicted to having the carpet looking like it's just been cleaned- and this does the job.
The only negative is it only lasts an hour and then needs an hour to be charged up again. And after every hour you have to empty the dust collecting area.
Buy one -you will thank me

Julie-Ann, is that the IRobot Roomba? I have looked at it on the tvsn.com.au website. This can be paid off over five months. YAY!!!! Good thing about tvsn, you get item after 1st payment, then they also have a 30 day money back guarantee....
