Yes Clare you are right the book case is a bit too top heavy sitting above the shelves.
I think the chairs are too much for me - and looking at the other photos I think they all suffer that a bit - its as though left over desk timber was used to construct the chairs. I would have preferred something a bit more modern. This room has that vibe I have with American decorating - too much and too matching (I know I have repeated myself as I said this before but am feeling expansive right now). The colours and the basic furniture and the architectural elements are all lovely but it does look more like a catalogue than say a magazine shoot doesn't it?
I can imagine it being the such-and-such collection from Pottery Barn to be picked up/copied here by Harvey Norman/Domayne.

I've never seen a Pottery Barn catalogue but thought it could easily be found in a freedom one or any store which sells furniture & nick nacks for easy one stop shopping. Whilst the room has everything, it still doesn't look as if the furniture works 100% with the space.
Despite that I like the overall sunny look of the room. Love the windows, would be great with a sofa there but that may defeat the purpose of a study!

And tell me if you do not agree 100% with my comments - I feel I need some sort of prize.
Ok don't worry just being completely silly now.

Oh and look how cheap it is compared to Australian retailers (don't think they post large items here though unfortunately)

Actually when you look directly at the items they are fairly expensive - the corner desk is $800

Aside from the price, why do Aussie retailer offer us such a limited, boring selection of furniture to choose from at premium prices?
I've spotted a multitude of business opportunities since taking on extending/renovating.
