Default Ready Made Curtians

Have I just had rotten luck or are all ready made curtains poorly finished?
In the last week I have returned several sets of Ready made curtains as they were faulty. All of them have been shorter at the edges than in the middle. One set was 4cm shorter on the side than the middle. I can understand maybe if it is a little out because the stitching of the side hems might pull it up or the material may need to drop. But 4cm seems a lot to me. Another pair were faulty at the top. One curtain had the eyelets placed a lot lower than the other curtain.
I normally have my curtains made by a lovely lady but thought this would be easier. All 3 sets of curtains were by different companies and 2 different stores.
In the end I have bought a pair where the eyelets at the top were equal but the bottom hem was crooked. It is a large hem so I will unpick it, hang them up, pin them and then use the sticky glue hemming stuff to do the hem.

So has anyone else had problems with ready mades or is it just my dumb luck?

Angry ready made curtains

Can I just say that in Australia there are about 3 companies that distribute ready made curtains. They use different names so it looks like there are many more suppliers, but this is not the case. All ready mades are made in China (used to be Pakistan). There is very little quality control. As we all know, China is used for cost reasons ONLY because the consumer demands cheaper products. So you do get what you pay for and it is totally unfair to compare them with professionally made products that in Australia are usually hand finished!!! Sorry, but I get on my soapbox about ready mades: they are disgusting!!!

Don't be sorry Morethancurtains. I agree the quality was terrible. I just wondered if it was me or is this normal. Actually I said to the 1 of the store assistants "what a waste of gorgeous material". I am afraid I would not be in a rush to buy ready made curtains again after this experience. Thank goodness for my curtain lady who sews beautiful curtains at a very reasonable price
Has anyone else had this problem?

Well the curtains are finally finished in Mr17's study. I went with the black curtains. I had to unpick the hems and repin them. I did that and then DH announced he hadn't finished putting up the middle bracket. So the middle bracket went in place today. And you guessed it the hems were now too short. So they were repinned and then finally hemmed with a special tape. Where the original hem was there is now tiny little holes that sun shines through. But I have a plan- I am going to put some masking tape on the back over the holes. Hopefully that will block the light.
Another job ticked off the To Do List
Photos will follow tomorrow.

Here is the promised picture of the hemmed curtains. And a pot plant was added to the room for some good Feng Shui- actually just because I like having plants in rooms
