Default A quick question

When I was having coffee yesterday in the lovely little French cafe, my girlfriend and I were chatting about decorating - I know your so surprised.
She asked me what did I think most of the members of the forum's decorating style was. I really wasn't sure.
I know it is hard to put a label on it sometimes but would you say you prefer:
1. Traditional styles
2. Modern cleaner styles
3. Eclectic with a mixture of both

For me I would say our home is very traditional but I am trying bring in more of an eclectic look - mixing very modern pieces with antiques.

So out of curiosity what would you say your style is closer to?

Eclectic for sure. If I had the funds I'd be mixing traditional, solid wood furniture with contemporary art and some special antique and modern pieces.

Eclectic. Constantly mixing new with old but only ever bringing things home that I truly love.

Hmmm our home is such an evolving space that I don't know what my style is except to say I love white old painted pieces, my colourful artwork, rattan & cane baskets, old suitcases, coir rugs, waffle bedding. I guess as I'm writing this its sounds like relaxed beachy rustic with vibrant colour!!
go figure! haha

I find my style is always changing but ultimately. I would say....simple contemporary with an eastern influence....I love chinese antiques(chinoiserie of any sort) and also some of the savannah design style.....
Its funny how we give ourselves styles to try and stick to....but I find sometimes my style is just putting together things that I love and they don't always fit in the same genre....
hence my all over the place style.....insert a big wink here.

Default We are an eclectic home

I d say i was the third, eclectic, i have a contemporary home, with modern and retro artwork and then my favourite antiques scattered around and mixed in with the new. It does work quite well. and as above I only buy things i truely loves whether old or new.

So many varied tastes.
I like the idea of only buying what you really like but if I did that our house would be stuffed full.
