Professional Family Photos

Today we are having a photographer come around and take some family photos. I am so excited as we love Lisa's work. You can see her here at Lilypad Photography. Lanne was so lovely and helped us find a photographer here in Perth. Thanks Lanne.
Have you had professional family photos taken before? Any tips for us?

What a lovely idea JA before your son goes away to university. We only had professional photos done when our girls were younger. We recently went on a family hold a together to Bali and have some beautiful photos of us together that I have framed. Friends of ours had professional photos done when their children were in their 20's and they are gorgeous. I think some of the photos were actually done in black and white and they looked great. The photo as well as the day will be something you will always remember. Have a wonderful day

Wow - J-A I looked at her site - and her you-tube video is fabulous - it almost made me cry. Ok Lanne I really need a photographer as good as her (and you) in the ACT I think - and looking at the site made me think hang the expense - (almost)

I have no tips however if you find a great photographer, it is the best money you'll ever spend.

We had family portraits done when our boys were 5.5yrs and 7yrs old and some of the boys are large and framed so they can be hung on the walls. Can't wait to find the right place to hang them again soon.

They are black and white.

Well it was a great afternoon. I wasn't hopeful as Mr18 was grumpy about having to have the photos taken. But Lisa soon had him relaxed and laughing. We all had a really fun time and hopefully there are some good shots. Goodness knows Lisa took heaps.
You are right Clare1 it is a lovely memory and to have that afternoon captured and on the walls will be very special. And yes Di I think it was money well spent. Lisa was actually very affordable. The session was only $150 and her photos are very reasonably priced.
Clp I have great news for you. Lisa comes from Canberra and is happy to work when she is next visiting home. If you email her you might be able to work something out. She is such a lovely person and made it a great fun experience.

So now we wait a couple of weeks for the photos. Can't wait to see them.

The hard part will be choosing the photos Julie-Ann, because I am sure there will be so many beautiful ones, each capturing a different "something" that will pull at your heartstrings.

We got some done in November and they turned out great This is the first time we have had them done professionally and I want to try and do it every two years or so from now on as my boys are growing so quickly
