Default Persian Rugs

Hi all,
Just wanted to ask people what they think of persian rugs. About 10 years ago I purchased some persian rugs at auction and immedietly hated them for their busyness..... Mr RR hated the carpet rugs we had in house and he won , good thing is that eventually they grew on me...

We bought a hall runner. A small rug for living and one for under dining table. They have come with us to temporary house and now I am debating whether or not they will come to "Rome".
Just wanted to get some thoughts on the matter from the experts (u guys).

Oh btw they are taupe with tiny blue and brown accents so not red type...

At first glance, RR, I think they could fit in really well in Rome. You have a similar open plan set-up, yes?

I love them in soft, muted colours and I think yours sound and look great. They're fairly neutral and do not dominate.

I agree - keep them. They are soft colours and I think they will look great in Rome. What colours are you planning for Rome? Have you chosen yet?

I think they look gorgeous and I think when they are put together well they are really successful.....I tried with Husband and he just insisted on calling them my Nanna rugs and refused to enjoy them for my addition to my classic eclectic Asian styling......I must remember to work a little harder on him for this "win"
I think yours are fantastic colours and will sit really well with your style.
Some alternate inspiration...

thanks guys....... so unless you r Mr Elements they are not just for Nannas..

DMplus3 the back room is a big open plan but quite a bit diff interms of layout......still sometime when I walk around Rome I get flashbacks of when revovating the old place. Its got all I loved about the old place but much better...(I hope when finished ROFL)..

I will try them and then if not well off they go....... Its just with floorboards throughout sometimes you need a bit of" ruggage".... And actually I would prefer some potterybarn type rugs but the rugs avail here are fugly or hugely expensive and since the persians were several thousands (what were we thinking ) gotta get my money's worth...

Now J-A..............my wall colour in most areas is the taupe/grey "Heifer" which was inspired by the Farrow and Ball colour "Elephant's Breath"........ the trims will be in white (natural or vivid). My dining table is the one in picture currently out on loan to my sister (well has been gone for last 4 yrs - hope I can get it back). There is a buffet to match..... New couches need to be bought....those blue ones you can barely see in pic r actually staying in rumpus room (but will have new ikat cushions)
