Default The Perfect White Colour

Choosing a white colour can be so difficult so I was pleased to read an article today in a special Home Beautiful Colour edition. They interview many paint experts and designers such as Greg Natale as to what they believe are the perfect whites. This is a summary of the colours they listed.

The article is divided into Warm Whites and Cool Whites.

Warm Whites:
Dulux Antique White USA (received actually 2 votes) - warm but not yellow
Dulux Whisper White (also received 2 votes) - looks great with brilliant white trims and neutral furnishings
Dulux China White - complements natural materials
Murobond Natural White - has a completely non reflective finish.
Bauwerk Mud in 13/60 - a soft pink base
Bauwerk Mud in 13/62 - warms up a stark and cold interior
Aalto Ivoire - a soft full bodied glow like ivory
Dulux White Watsonia (also received 2 votes) - very New York
Wattyl Asian Ivory - an antique timeless appeal that goes well with dark wood.

Cool Whites:
Aalto White - a pure white
Aalto Spatial - chalky
Dulux Vivid White (received 2 votes) - no tint white
Dulux Lexicon Quarter (also received 2 votes) - crisp and clean
Bauwerk Uber in 10/06 - looks really alive on the wall
Bauwerk Mud in 14/55 - suited to direct sunlight
Murobond Smart White - contemporary and teams well with metallic finsihes
Wattyl Winter Sky (also received 2 votes) - good when you have bright northern light or clear halogen lighting
New Look Mykonos White - a greyish white.

I hope this helps those of you madly searching for the perfect white.

I'm more confused now lol. I want to use lexicon full, wonder what the difference is from quarter, or if there is much at all.

It's just their opinions on what are their favourite colours. If you like Lexicon go for it.

Lexicon 1/4 is the closest to White, 1/2 is a bit further and full strength is the furthest, if that makes sense. I only found this out last week while at bunnings

I love the crisp bright look of Dulux Vivid White & have had a number of people ask what white I've used as it is so different to what most people seem to choose. I didn't realise the untinted white had a proper name until recently!

Just pop onto the dulux web page and you can get an idea of the different in tone for each of the strengths.

I love lexicon full! Its quite grey/blue and looks amazing with white trims! Its really lovely.

Bugger, we can pick from Taubmans paints with the new build and none of their colours are mentioned

We have Dulux whisper white on the walls now and love it!

Not sure what white it is Thisisme. But I would say neither the walls or the cabinets are Antique White USA. They are whiter than that colour.
