Can I add:
www.bemz.com
They make slip covers for IKEA furniture - absolutely brilliant - they will send you free fabric samples (it takes a while as its a Swedish store and they mail from Lithuania!). We had great covers made for our poang chairs which look fab.

I did come across a link to an american place which also does it but haven't checked it out and not sure if its cheaper or what its like. I love the link on the Bemz thread to pick your lifestyle - ok its within the scope of IKEA style furniture but I found it quite helpful in choosing my fabrics. At first I thought I wanted modern and bright and marimekko and then I realised I was nordic classic and the browns and blacks suited me a lot better.
I chose stockholm stripe in sage brown/jet black and it looks great. I should have ordered cushion covers (for my non IKEA couch) at the same time as the postage is per package rather than per item and ordering cushion covers now is a bit exxy.
I agree Julie-Ann I can't believe no one is doing it here because it would be fairly easy to achieve being standard sizes. Our cover was a nightmare to put on (but given we had taken the foam out and washed the covers before we already knew that) and there was a tear along a seam but its on a join which you can't see and if I could be bothered I could stitch it up myself (I'm not posting it back to Lithuania).

No not worth sending them back for a little tear. I believe it is easier to get them on if the covers are a little damp. I don't know if you have heard that?
So you couldn't buy covers for that chair in Ikea?

I could but I preferred these covers and they were comparable price wise to the ones I wanted.

I didn't see this one, we used them when we built - very competitive, large range...

State of Green sells environmentally aware homewares (see their living and furniture sections), and links to many independent designers. We read their blog all the time and admire the work of the designers. The blog also gives advance notice of upcoming Melbourne events.
