A New Clothes Dryer

Well the first power bill arrived since having the dryer. So the bill is for 8 weeks. We have had the dryer for 6 weeks and I use it about 5 times a week. Last year we had the spa pump running all winter. This year we emptied the spa 3 weeks ago. So they are the only variables that have changed. And the difference in consumption since last year was......NOTHING.

So really the spa power usage has been replaced by the dryer usage so even stevens!

We have a dryer and I use it for all the socks, jocks and pjs. Anything else ends up on the airer in front of the heater. Our dryer was given to us as a wedding pressie 11 years ago and is still going strong. It is nothing special and does the job! When we lived in the country (with a newborn) it went almost 24/7 in winter.

Except for towels, in winter they get chucked in the dryer. In summer, they get put on the line and then given a 20min whizz in the dryer to get all fluffy and soft!

I am so pleased the power bill wasn't astronomical
