Default A New Clothes Dryer

I want a clothes dryer for Mother's Day. I have never owned one before and know very little about them. When we have travelled I have used them and been amazed at how much less ironing I have to do. And less ironing means more forum time.
So what do I need to know when buying a dryer- can you educate me?

I've had a Hoover 5kg model 5030D for a few years now.

What I love about it (apart from the fact that it does what it should reliably) is that the lint filter is located on the actual door, not within the dryer itself at the back where all others that I had seen or used had them. The great thing about this is that you're always reminded to remove any built up lint before you even open the door to throw clothes in. Neglecting to do this can cause the dryer to overheat and potentially catch fire.

There are two heat settings - hot and warm - and these handle drying the clothes just fine. And with the 5kg size, I can fit quite a decent amount of washing in each load (without coming close to overloading) thus reducing the number of loads needed to be run.

HTH.

Cheers,
Helen.

I have a F&P Aerosense that I got two months ago after my last F&P fell off the wall! It is touch button with delay start, + and - heat settings (I think there are three) and also a wrinkle free setting. The filter is at the front but in a cavity at the door rim, if that makes sense. I love it but don't let any of my clothes anyhere near it, only towels and DHs stuff.

Gollygar do they still make Hoover products? I haven't seen a Hoover product for years.
Eli why don't you put your clothes in them? I am looking forward to using it for our towels. But I especially want it for our clothes so I can do less ironing.
So features I should look for are:
a lint filter at the front
and wrinkle free setting.
Any other features?

As far as I know they still make Hoover products. We got ours from The Good Guys just a few years back. Google the make and possibly model I mentioned too and see what you find.

Will do Gollygar.
Does anyone have a condenser dryer? Do you need to have good ventilation for them?

Most of my clothes are hand wash only. I would put jeans in but that's about it. Oh and I still iron when things have been in the dryer. I'm the person who made DH take his work pants off one morning as they hadn't been ironed and I couldn't let him go pour concrete with wrinkled pants, lol.

Oh that is sad Eli. So does it really make your towels fluffy?

Yes the towels are softer if dried, we can't stand the feel of line dried towels.
