I was going to suggest 2 separate areas but I think Clp is on to something.
How about this:
Move the TV to the left as Clp suggested.
Leave the mirror where it is but move the art of that left wall.
Have 1 sofa with it's back to the wall of windows and centred across from the TV as Clp said.
Then move the other sofa so it's back is facing the mirror. But don't have it against the wall.
Then have the 2 chairs facing the mirror. Have them about 60-75cm apart do people can walk through them. Placing them also on a 45 degree angle will also make people feel comfortable walking through them and you don't have just their backs to the Dining room.
And yes add side tables as Clp suggested and place the rug in the centre of the space.
What do you think? Does this make sense?

That could work - I was going more along what Sooty suggested - with the arm chairs behind the sofa and in their own nook alongside the mirror.

You realise you have to play around with it all and take photos for us!

Can't wait to see how the different ideas look. Even if none of them seem perfect show us the pictures as it might help inspire the perfect solution.

It looks great Christa. The chairs, the rug and the bookcase have created their own space now.

Many people combine the dining and living areas to save space. This room achieves the goal well, defining separate spaces but still making the best use of the area. In general, try to keep the dining area close to the kitchen
