geez I also live with 3 sons and a hubby... I can't even get them to leave the seat down, let alone the lid!!
I must be doing something wrong, I might try the luck flushing down the toilet trick on them

This is a matter of accepting the things you cannot change. ;-)
Don't get me wrong... I'd prefer the lid down. No question. But I have a husband and three sons. It's not going to happen.
Once the boys are toilet trained, my battle is going to be getting them to leave the SEAT down. But in this quest, I am determined. They'll do it if it kills me. (Or them.)

It doesn't really bother me either way, as long as there is nothing on the seat then I can live with it My husband has a thing about toilet rolls though, if he sees an empty one sitting there it annoys him so much!

Having two brothers and a stepbrother makes you appreciate these things

Lol no I hadn't even thought of your toilet until you just mentioned it. If you can all keep a secret -it was because of my MIL doing it when she visits- it really annoys me . But I thought perhaps it was me being overly picky- like when she rubs the bottom of her shoe along the glass on my coffee table- but that's another subject
