Question Kitchen Splashbacks

I'm having my kitchen redecorated and looking to get some vibrant kitchen splash-backs and have been considering acrylic splash-backs, does anyone know if this is a good idea and more cost effective than other ideas?

Hi asm88 welcome to the Decorating Forum. Do you mean something like this product Metaline that we discussed here?

Is this fixed to the splashback wall like glass is? Do they come and measure to get a precise fit?

I'm assuming you are in the UK? You will have a larger range of products to choose from so we may not be familiar with particular brands however you would have to be very careful using any acrylic product in a kitchen as it can't be used near a heat source. You could probably have a stainless steel panel behind the hob with acrylic either side but you would need to check the specifications with the supplier as to how far away the acrylic product must be.

Coloured glass is very popular here (can be used behind the hob), the kitchens shown on this website would be a standard look in many modern kitchens http://www.opticolour.co.uk/kitchens...installed.html except the printed glass doesn't seem to be available here.

Thanks for the advice, definitely going to have ask a few questions to the supplier. Will let you know how I get on, cheers.
