Default Kids Meals

It seems that most restaurants/cafes don't provide many (if any) healthy options for kids meals. It seems to be mostly fried food like nuggets and fish and chips or spaghetti. Where are the vegetables?. my child from having soft drink.
If you know any great restaurants/cafes that serve healthy kids meals let us know here

When I was a kid I used to just order an entree - I never liked the crap they served to kids. I hope Thomas won't like that stuff either and will instead eat a range of foods.

I prefer my kids to choose something off the Menu, good for them to expand their taste in food and to try different things. Only problem is my kids also like a good chat over dinner so it can take awhile!

Agree though Julie-Ann, Nuggets, Fish Fingers etc are just quick and nasty

It can be very hard to get them to choose something healthy when all those fried options are tempting them..

My fave atthe moment if muffin break, I meet my sisters there every second friday with my girls, and they have a baby cino with a quiche. Love it they provide colouring for the kids while they wait for there cino and lunch.

That is great Jaz_ben. A quiche is such a nice alternative. Do they have one in Bunbury? I wonder if they are a national chain? I hope so as that gives an easy option for parents

JA - I think M17 could have a meal now

I usually find with lochie that sadly.. the chips are the safe option because he has so many allergies.. He is a fan of calamari etc.. and we have a few meals he can have at our fave family cafe/rest so we go there more often because he can have more than chips.. I can also swap out chips for veges if I ask at most places. I just leave all that stuff as a treat food for when we are out and dont serve it at home. I know Mum does fish and chips with him whenever he stays there because he loves it, eats it with no fuss and she does it in the oven so doesn't lose any valuable play time cooking. It is a happy arrangement on both sides. She never has to say.. eat your veges LOL

I figure i have a treat when I am out for dinner.. so he can too.

Mr 3 loves to eat tuna sushi rolls........ Turns his nose up at chips although loves fried fish from F&P shop......
Fried rice is also a favourite......

We don't go out much so I don't mind giving him "treat" food either but would not go the soft drink option.....never.....

I was at a 3rd birthday party where the mum was happily giving out soft drink cans to the 3 year olds......I was horrified..luckily Mr 3 rejected this option anyway....
