Default How is your Garden

The summer seems to be going forever here in Perth. My roses are looking very sad. Some of my neighbour's plants have simply fried in the heat. And with this being such a dry summer I am dreading them tightening the water restrictions even further next year.
So how is your garden looking after such a long and hot summer?

Here in Canberra, we've recently had some really good rain and now all the patches in the lawn are starting to disappear and it's becoming a lush green, the roses have become rejuvenated, and we'll soon have our lovely Autumn flush of flowers. The days are mild & sunny, the nights cool and perfect for sleep. The drought has broken. Autumn is my very favourite season here.

Ours is doing pretty good. This time last year it had all died, and it was only done in Sept. So we have worked really hard with new plantings, food and recycled water at getting it looking good, and established.
Might have to share some pics as uunlike the house we are pretty happy with what we have ahcieved LOL ;-p

That must have been so heart breaking to see all your hard work die.
Congratulations on getting it going again.
I think I would have been tempted to move to an apartment with a single pot plant on the balcony

It kind of was. But i was determined to win. Renting for 10 years before buying all i ever dreamed off was my own garden, more than anything!
My husband built the backyard one with moslty thrifty freebies as my 30th bday present...anyhow....here is my front garden from start to now (notice house paint colour ) and yes i wonder why i went terracotta too

The day we bought it:

It looks so lush and green. Good on you for persisting.
You have added $1000's in value to the house.
I can't wait to see the back garden too.
You can tell you are a blogger. Bloggers take so many photos, even of dieing plants. Thank goodness you did so that we can get to see them.
Thanks for showing us.

oooh I love photos. Garden looks lovely!

Our gardens are quite water logged at the moment thanks to the heavy rain we had last weekend. We installed two water tanks when we moved in and luckily we have had water in them for most of the Summer (apart from when DH forgot to turn the hose off one night and emptied one ). I just water what I need to, most of the plants are coping well without alot of water which is good. It's the NW wind that is causing more trouble for my new trees

We can't win- our gardens are so dry and yours is water logged.
Our deadly wind TTD is the easterly, it is such a dry scorching wind.
Maybe we should all move to Canberra and enjoy Autumn, which is also my favourite season. My dream trip would be New England and Boston in Autumn
