How to be notified of new posts

I have had a few members ask how can they can set it up so they receive email notices when there are new posts to topics they are following.
So I thought I would create this Sticky for any of you who would like to do this.
Click on User CP at the top of the page.
Then on the left side of the page under the heading Settings & Options,
click on Edit Options.
Then under the heading Messaging & Notification, the second box is titled
Default Thread Subscription Mode. Click on the options under this title and there is a drop down box with options to chose between instant, daily or weekly email notifications.
If you choose one of these options you will receive emails to notify you on any new replies to a thread you have started or or a thread you have already replied on.

Thanks for providing information on update posts notification. I am looking for similar kind of information. I had doubts on how i will receive a notification when new posts are posted.
