Hi from Adelaide!
Hi,
Im obviously new to this forum but have loved what I have been reading so far.
I love decorating and am always looking for new ideas.
My husband and I have just taken a big step and are selling our wonderful home of 18 months, after transforming it from a hideous collision of colours and carpets and clutter, into a warm, neutral and beautiful home ( as my real estate agent says!)
Our plan is to buy a small place in need of minor renovations or aesthetic touches and to do this, whilst we save and look for a block to build our dream home.
That being said we have seen a few blocks and they are wonderful but we have very specific plans in some ways for the house we want so it is a long process. I have dreams of a traditional home with many modern touches. Think wrap around bullnose verandahs, big entrance halls, country style kitchen with breakfast nook, open plan living through to outdoor entertaining with pool. Needless to say I am spending way too much time thinking/ dreaming about this!!!
Looking forward to being part of the forum!
Alex

Hi Alex it's lovely to meet you . Welcome to the Decorating Forum.
It sounds like you have done a wonderful job on your renovation . Is the real estate market healthy in Adelaide? It is quite terrible here in Perth . As you are looking around for either a new home or land do keep us posted.

The real estate market is very flat in adelaide at the moment, its a real buyers market. In my suburb alone there are over 100 houses for sale in the $450k- $550k range, which includes us, and its really tough. That being said everyone has loved our house, just havent liked the steep incline that it is on!

Yes your lounge room is my favourite too- stunning. I love those colours . But I really love the front elevation too. Did you have to repaint the gutters or anything? It looks so fresh and up to date.
Here's hoping for a quick and easy sale for you.

We were lucky - we didnt have to paint outside, only inside. Which was mammoth - the living room/ kitchen was yellow and magenta! Horrendous!!!
Thanks - the black and white shots I took in New York this year, when we were there over Christmas. Luckily it snowed so we got brilliant shots.
Thanks for the comments - we are hoping for a sale soon too! Cant wait to get started on a new project!

My favourite is number five too! I think you have got the balance of the black just right. (In the photo frames, cushions and tray. Looks great!
