Default Help needed to plan bathroom layout

I need to finalize the layout of the plumbing,so need to plan bathroom and kitchen. I am happy with the ensuite and powder room (do people still call it that?). But not sure about bathroom and haven't planned kitchen yet. I will post a separate post for kitchen.
I am not really happy with the way the draftsman drew in the bathroom. I am thinking of changing it to......
Move door over and put shower in the recessed space. With a glass panel and maybe no door?
Leave bath where it is
More space for a bigger vanity (900mm)
Heated towel ladder on wall next to shower

What do you think?

I wanted to repaste my house plan but can't work out how on the iPad....help

Hi Jakira I like your ideas for the bathroom. But how big would the shower be then? And what is the amount of wall space available for the heated towel rail?
Another idea is to move the shower and the door as you have suggested. Then put the bath on the side where the vanity is at the moment. Then place the vanity where the bath is. This only works if the window is high up though. I like the vanity under a high long rectangular window as it gives great light when shaving or putting on makeup.

Looking at the plan I imagine the design is to give you a spacious feeling bathroom in a relatively small space.

Moving the door & shower sounds like a good option so long as the recess is large enough for the shower, not sure what you mean about having a panel & no door. I would have the door opening against the shower rather than the long vanity.

Another thought for your WC, it's something I've done, I've hung the door so it opens outwards so I've been able to fit a small wall hung basin.

This is exactly what I am considering for our awkwardly laid out powder room!

Sooty, have you ever found it to be a safety issue, with people standing in front of the WC getting knocked out as the door opens?

Would you consider having the toilet inside the bathroom? That way you would save the space that an extra door takes up...

No I don't believe it is a safety issue as I don't think anyone would just stand so close to the door. I think you may get a shock no matter which way the door opens if you go to open it as someone opens it from inside LOL but if you are at all concerned have a separate privacy lock fitted so people can tell if it is occupied

It is the perfect solution for your door TIM

Thanks for the replies.
The size of the space for shower is 900 x 1110mm. Is that big enough?
If you had the vanity under the window JA where would you put the mirror?
TIM I have the toilet and a small vanity separate and with an exterior door so kids/guests using the alfresco or pool won't have to go thru the house to use the loo.
Where should the door go and which way should it open left or right (if we do move shower)?

Ideally a shower should be 1m x 1m I think.

900 x 1110mm will work for a shower but not without a glass door. To do the look of a shower without a door you need a bigger space. The opening to walk in to the door needs to be 700-750mm wide. Plus I like to allow 1300mm from the shower rose to the beginning of the opening. This prevents water spraying out of the opening. You also have to keep in mind that your heated towel rail must be 1800mm away from the shower rose if there is not a door.
I like Sooty's idea that the bathroom doors swings to open against the shower. I think your toilet door is fine as it is drawn.
The vanity will only work if the window is like in this photo. If the window is a standard window stick with your plan as it will look great.
