Default Help me finalise our laundry design :)

I think it's about time I finalised our laundry design and would love it if you could help me

We are having bulkheads above our cabinets in the laundry. Below are a couple of photos of what we've come up with so far:

I am thinking of having the middle compartment and the one on the right as shelves. And the one on the left as a broom/ironing board cabinet. They are 43cm wide. Will that be wide enough for an average ironing board and broom?

Look forward to reading your feedback

Would it be better to have the broom cupboard closer to the entrance of laundry (is that the big blue bit?) rather than closer to the wall......you want it easily accessed.......... Oh and what is size of your ironing board they come in all diff sizes so make sure yours fits..........

Thank you Rosie. Very good point. Didn't think of that. Although I don't have an ironing board so hope that when I eventually do get one it will fit

What are the tall turquoise bits? And where do the washer and dryer go?
Very good point Rosie

They are floor to ceiling storage cabinets

The dryer and w/m are labelled red in the top drawing. The one in the left of the sink is a w/m and on the oter side is the dryer.

Lol I should try putting on my glasses first.
It looks great to me. The only other things you might want to consider is a drying rack and a pull out ironing board. Both not necessary but can be handy.

I've been tossing up whether to have a drying rack or not... I remember seeing one on a US based blog... it had a shelf on top of the rack. Would you happen to know which blog this is Julie-Ann? Sorry, I know it isn't much to work with

But the lady has a lovely jouse and it is hampton style I think.

I am afraid I am no expert on USA blogs - sorry I tend to stick to the Aussie ones. Maybe someone else knows it. I did find this one on Google.

Rosie I love my pull out ironing board. Mine is above the bins in the kitchen. It is a drawer and when you pull on the drawer the ironing board pulls out. It is only suitable for quick touch ups as it is not a full length board. Plus it has rusted a little underneath because of the steam. I buy mine from Galvins Hardware which is a company that sells kitchen hardware like the bins.
