Default Help I got it wrong

My overhead kitchen cabinets are doing my head in. They don't reach the ceiling. I have high ceilings and don't know what to do to make it look right.
I think a bulk head would be too large.
I wonder if I could add plaster so the cabinets don't stand out?
I should have paid more attention.

How big is the gap Abigail? Or cabinets go up to 2.4m and between 2.4m and 2.7m there is a bulkhead.

I'm sorry to hear you're upset, Abigail. That quite often happens with building - so many things to think about and consider and it is easy for something to slip through.

Do you have a photo, please?

There is about 50cm gap I think, between cabinets and ceiling. I will attach a photo of the cabinets and also some gorgeous bread I made in the Thermomix.

Abigail I don't think 50cm is too much. A bulkhead will just like you have recessed your cabinets into a wall. I would definitely have a bulkhead added.
You can see in this picture they have added a large bulkhead.

Also it is very popular in contemporary kitchens to have the bulkhead deeper than the overhead cabinets. So it sits in front of the cabinets by about 7cm.

Although our bulkhead was built by Mr thisisme during the framing stage out of steel frames, and was then plastered, my understading is that builders normally do this after the kitchen goes in and just put an infill, in order to save costs.

So, as long as you are happy with your bulkhead being 50cm it should all be fine

Ours is 30cm just to give you an idea...

Yours does look good TIM. A bulkhead sounds like it is the go. Does it only overhang the middle cabinets and sit level with the fridge and oven?

We absolutely love our bulkheads
It's flush with the fridge and oven cabinets.
