I stumbled upon this web site when looking for something else and it is great. have thoroughly enjoyed reading the comments and looking at the pictures, there are some lovely homes. I am about to move into a 6 year old house in the country and have previously had a balinese theme which has really suited the last few houses we have lived in. I have an incredible collection of Buddhas and a great balinese day bed. I have taken some of my decor items to the new house and it looks all wrong This house is more of a "pretty" house! I guess I will move in and look forward to slowly buying pieces that feel right!

Hi Beverley- welcome to the Decorating Forum. It is lovely to have you join us. With the Balinese look not going with your new house - it sounds like the perfect excuse for a little shopping. The good thing with the pretty look there are lot of inexpensive items available. Thank you for the warm welcome, I will post some photos once we have moved in, unpacked and the internet is connected! The house has good bones but has been tenanted and unloved, with next to no maintenance done for years! We have just repainted it internally (it had a different colour in every room ...deep purple, aqua, lolly pink, dark brown etc We have painted it in full strength Dulux Grand piano throughout except in the hallways where we went half strength. The floor sander goes in tomorrow to do the timber floors. So happy with the paint colour, it looks like a different house already!
We will paint the outside hopefully before the end of this year. I love the feeling you get when you transform a house, I can't paint or draw but bringing a house to life is a creative process in itself!

It sounds so exciting Beverley. I love finding a "Renovator's delight" with such a gorgeous colour scheme. Grand Piano is a fantastic colour- great choice. So all those different sample pots worked for you after all.
