Height of wall mount TV
Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone can give me advice on what height to mount a 60" TV? The lounge will be about 4m from the TV.

Hi AmandaLouise I once read the bottom should be 900mm from the floor. But I would have it so the bottom is at eye level when sitting down. Are you having anything below it?

Thanks. This is another problem I have. The tv is going t be mounted in a recessed section of our wall but it is only 350mm deep and I have searched and cannot find a tv unit below about 390mm deep. Obviously I don't want it to stick out past the recess as this will look silly. So we have purchased a surround sound system where the DVD player is like a flat mini screen that actually mounts to the wall under or above the TV. We are going to try this and if it looks like something is missing we may have to get a custom cabinet made although I have looked into this and it's quite expensive.

I'm not sure I would have problems with the TV unit jutting forward of the recess a little - IMHO. It would look better flush but sometimes the ultimate is unaffordable.

We have one mounted at 900 and one at 950 and both are fine but I would go for 900 if I had to choose. Maybe consider if you want to see the tv over a lounge eg if you are sitting at a table.

Thankyou Cherylle, Can I get some opinions on whether or not you guys think it will look funny to have no cabinet below my TV?

Hi AmandaLouise IMHO they look better with some cabinet or table under them. It looks more balanced and not them just floating on the wall. But others may not agree.

My daughter had the same problem and ended up with a wide six drawer dresser which fitted the space. They only needed a couple of components to go in the dresser so her fiancé hinged the fronts of the drawers and placed the components in the two top drawers. When not in use just close the drawers (or doors if thats what they turned into??) and all you can see is the dresser with tv above. It looks great and a much cheaper option than custom made
