I love that tip - thanks Trish.
Rofl - a great tip Mummachicka. Your ironing lady is so cheap. Don't let her get away.
Tracyel - is that all you have to do lol.
I wish I didn't have to iron. Using the dryer has reduced the time it takes though by at least half.

Here's my newest ironing tip http://www.tefal.com.au/All+Products...Anti+Clalc.htm

Just love it, only downside is if I am wearing my glasses they fog up from the steam.

This is my kind of thread :P

I put the clothes straight on the hangers too and if it's raining or looks like it will I use the top of the door jam in the laundry as the breeze through the house dries the clothes in record time. I also peg two socks or two pairs of undies and sling them over a hanger until I run out of room. Instead of having a basket and hangers to carry around they all get taken into the bedroom on hangers and sorted there. If you are short on time just leave them hanging in the cupboard till you have another 2 mins spare, especially if visitors arrive, often my partner just grabs his socks off the hanger instead of out of the hamper.

I have makeup allergies and find that the removers cause more of a reaction to my skin than the actual makeup, especially around my eyes. Use a small squeeze bottle from a $2 shop and fill it with olive oil, grab some toilet paper if you are out or a small face washer at home and the makeup slides right off. Then when you are in the shower give your face a light rinse with the shampoo suds and you are grease free.

Instead of the usual body scrubs and soaps, make your own. Make a mix of bicarb soda and a body wash until it is a paste the consistency of soft butter. When my sisters come over they love it because it makes your skin feel softer, do not use after shaving though as it burns like acid :P It makes a squeeze bottle of your favourite body wash last so much longer and its great when used for a shower massage at the end of the day.

To make your kitchen scourers last longer cut them in half. Instead of having them get gross and try to clean them just throw it out and use the other half.

My husband wears polo shirts to work and if he wants to wear a dressier shirt he can iron it himself.

My husband doesn't know how to iron a shirt. And I'm sure I'd find something wrong with it if he did, so I guess I'm stuck ironing.

Eli I actually bought that iron for a relative for her kitchen tea, she swears by it also!! It's soooo big though. I have to have a go of it to see what you both are talking about.

They are big but I place it on the bench and just have the actual iron on the ironing board, set up beside the bench. So it really is just like a normal iron. The only real downside I have discovered is that I can't do a quick iron, it takes about 5 minutes before it is all steamed up ready to go. After waiting that long I make sure that I iron everything.
