The mirror in question IS the one in the photo. Removing the current grill wouldn't work as it is much bigger hence the need for a border. Black was one of the colours I had in mind so could be the way to go. Running around & researching is not a problem as I am retired & having enough time is something I don't worry about. Pretty well every thing can be ordered online & a handyman can put it up. Thanks for your advise!

I think I would paint the board black. I agree it would look good with your table and chairs. Look forward to seeing the finished result.
Glad you are enjoying retirement so much

Smile Garden Mirror - Next Episode

The 'garden mirror' venture started in August but it is finally finished! After much measuring, visits to Bunnings, discussions with partner ... & being VERY nice to two great brother in-laws ... it is done. The finished project is blue board painted black with a mirror made to size glued to the board. Very happy with the end product & toasted it with chilled Rose

It looks fantastic. I always thought it was going to look good but I must admit this is better than I expected. You must be so pleased?
Thanks for showing us the finished result.
