Thanks girls for your great ideas. I love the statement chair as I don't really have anywhere to sit and sew. What colour do you think?
JA unfortunately my coffee table is chocolate leather too. It was purchased during my matchy matchy phase!
In my hall I have discovered a table that might be Ok for a sofa table. Then I would have to buy a new table for there, perhaps a Chinese flying table?
I have photos of the rest of the room. It is combined family, kitchen and dining.

Ooh yes I agree and that would make a great console table.
I like your couches but would get rid of the coffee table - hmm having said this I really struggle with coffee tables - so much so that we have a cheap crappy IKEA one I have painted grey and its a bit chipped. I just can't justify buying an expensive one but I want something a bit different - actually I think I want a large round one.
If the MattBlatt chairs are a bit pricey you could always do an IKEA Poang - they are very comfy and I got mine recovered from BEMZ (the Swedish place which makes slipcovers for IKEA furniture - postage is a bit exxy but I really like my chairs now)

Yes, I would like to get rid of the ottoman but I don't think Hubby will let me. Unless I could find another spot for it.
I would like an industrial type one. I like the one from Freedom.
I tried putting a chair in the corner where the Christmas tree was and it looks much more balanced.
