Yep, thats what we did. We did it all when the laundry was gutted and before the bench was installed.

But it should be easy enough to do with a bench in place - the plumber would just need to chisel out underneath the bench where the taps are to go and then up the top where the taps are, snip snip, clamp everything off and then you can render and white wall over the top to neaten everything up.

As long as you keep the taps in the same vertical line, all should be simple.

I have had both but only lasted a year with the front loader before selling it and getting another top loader, it used to drive me mad!

As there are two of us at home I went for the smaller LG toploader with no middle agitator and it is a fantastic little machine that is gentle on clothes but does a great job. It also has the lid that folds in half so you can put a dryer above it.

When I ran the holiday home as a business I used to bring all the towels and sheets home to wash in my big top loader because it was so much faster than waiting for the cycle on the front loader that was in the holiday home.

My Mum had a twin tub when we were kids but since has only had front loaders and loves them. Mind you she used to bring her doona covers and other big things to run through my big top loader as she couldn't fit them in her front loader!

I can still fit more in my small LG top loader than a front loader...and it is very water efficient!

I prefer front loaders. They're a bit easier on your clothes, even if they have a bit less space on average.

I love my front loaders. I used to hate having to untangle clothes from the top loader washing machine. I also like the fact that the front loader uses less energy and water. We also have a steam function on the dryer which is nice to freshen things up or get out the wrinkles.
