Foxtel IQ2
I have just ordered Foxtel IQ2 for our home. They were offering the upgrade for $100 installation fee and an extra $8 per month, from our standard box. So now seemed the time to make the move.
I had a good read of all the benefits of the IQ2 which you can read in detail on their website. But here is a summary of the features of the IQ2 box:
High Definition Ready
Record two shows at once
Pause & Replay Live TV
Automatic Recording
320GB Hard Drive
On Demand Programs
Remote Record
So do you have Foxtel/Austar? Have you upgraded to IQ or IQ2 yet?
What do you think of it?

we have had it since around May of this year and LOVE IT. It worked out to be the same price that we had been paying for two boxes as we had multiroom. and since our spare TV has died in the meantime it was a good move. i love being able to record multiple shows and then watching them when i want. we have had Foxtel in pretty much each house we have been in, we live in a rural area so tv coverage is poor in regards to reception, and lack of digital channels.

Oh that's very reassuring Nbeltane. I do love my TV and especially Foxtel.
I was thinking perhaps they are encouraging people to go on to IQ2 because with all these new TV channels this is Foxtel's main selling point. I mean with so many TV shows now available on free to air that's not a selling point anymore. What do you think?

Foxtel are making changes as of 1st november.
there is a couple more chanel's coming. and there is also going to be on-demand where you can hook it up to your internet and get even more movies and tv shows for an extra cost. they will show them on foxtel first and if you want to see them after the run has finished you can pay too.
we really happy with it, although we do have days when there really is nothing on, thats when iq2 is a saviour as we save movies and things to watch later or again. i go through my planner weekly and delete what we dont want any more, we save up kids movies for the weekend for dd8. i also record from my ipod touch, iphone and netbook, they have much better search functions.

download the foxtel app from itunes and enter your log in info (works the same on both the ipod touch and iphone)
to download to your pc go to the foxtel website and download and again enter your log in details for your foxtel (you may need to register).
they all work in the same way
say i want to watch changing rooms i search for it under the search function and then press record and that will immediately show up on my iq2 planner on the tv. i can be sitting in bed and remember i wanted to watch something search for it on my ipod/iphone and again same press record.
you still have to go to the iq2 planner on the tv to series link things (one of my favorite features). also love the i suggest feature too that suggests shows to watch and you can record from in that feature.

So you can't do it totally remote? So if I am visiting a client and remember I can't ask it to video my show whilst out?

That's amazing . I am so impressed. You are a wealth of knowledge Nbeltane . You are going to have to get rid of the Blackberry and convert to an Iphone

yep do have an iphone, have had one for two years but because it was with telstra i let it go, brought a new ipod touch with camera in it which is identical to the iphone in every way but doesn't have the phone. have had it a couple of weeks now and i love it.
you can also go to the foxtel website and record and program things directly from there.
