Default Easy Peasy Dinner Party

This is my version of an easy to throw together dinner party. We are having guests tonight. I figured the house was spotless from the afternoon tea I had on Thursday so why not make the most of it. But I don't have a lot of time to cook so this is what I am whipping up:

Chips and nuts for nibbles. I normally would have a dip but this will be an early evening as kids are attending, so I didn't want everyone filling up.

Garlic Chicken thighs. Now I know telling you about these are only of use to those living south of Perth. The butcher between McDonalds and Bunnings on Leach Hwy, Melville makes these. They are thighs marinated in olive oil, garlic and parsley. They BBQ perfectly and are so moist. We have tried to replicate the marinade but no luck.
Pasta Salad with pesto, mayo, spinach, prosciutto and pinenuts.
Green Italian Salad with lettuce mix, olives, sun dried tomatoes, fetta cheese and dressing in oil from sundried tomatoes.
Asparagus.
Garlic Bread.
Some carrot sticks for kids.

Strawberry Sundaes - strawberries, vanilla ice cream, strawberry syrup, and toasted slivered almonds.

Very easy peasy.

Your menu sounds great, J-A. I hope you had a wonderful night.

I am one of those "the house has to be perfectly clean and cook for hours people" but I am going to change that and be kinder to myself. I just don't have time for that any more.

Hope the dinner and company was everything you hoped for Julie-Ann.

I'm a bit like Di and RR ... spend hours and hours deciding on the menu, then shopping, then cooking. I suppose it's my way of spoiling others.

I should try to make life easier tho ... one day !!

I love cooking so that is why I spend so much time with all the preparing, etc. and like to have it all done before anyone gets here.

With the house and yard being finished in the next couple of months, we'll be looking forward to doing some easy entertaining.

It is crazy isn't it, how we clean and cook till nearly dead, then after they have all gone we need to clean again.
