Default Dramas in the foyer:( please help

We've come across more problems today

We are thinking of going square set in the foyer. Do you think this would look ok? Especially considering the glass panels on the left in between te foyer and dining room?

I would love to hear your advice.

Here are some photos:

I think square set may be easier to get a neater finish.

I would prefer cornices all the way through the house. But if you don't think you can get a neat finish in the corners then I would prefer square set in the foyer.
Are you going to put them up yourselves? Have you bought and had the cornices delivered yet?

Oh!! No we are not installing plasterboard/cornices ourselves. It would take us years to do! They've already delivered cornices but our plasterer is wonderful and will hopefully let us change our minds

Glad you are not doing it - it is a tricky process.
If your plasterer is ok about putting up the cornices then I would do that. Have you asked him what he thinks?

Thanks Julie-Ann.

In the photo below, the cornice would end in the middle of the wall sort of thing. Would that look ok?

As in the corner above the door in the centre of the photo.

Another thing, we wanted to have a downlight in the little ceiling space above the door in the pic below. If there is a cornice there we won't be able to fit a downlight
