Default deck furniture

Ok so the new deck at the front of the house is in the process of being built - we have a lovely large one out the back but are doing one out the front so can replace living room windows with stacker sliding doors and open place up more. It faces east and is up high overlooking the street (but set well back) and will feel a bit like a treehouse as it wraps around a tree trunk.

I desparately wanted Tulip chairs from Domayne but they are ridiculously expensive for my budget and I realised a table setting would be handier as the deck will be large enough. So I am resurrecting our old teak outdoor table (the chairs have mostly died) and its quite old and worn looking and I want to stain it a really dark colour - so its sort of black but not painted black - I want the worn patina to still be apparent.

Then instead of chairs I think I will do Tolix stools - I am umming and aahing about bright colour (initially wanted to do this as I wanted the Tulip chairs in turquoise) or just silver. And because the table has a hole in it a retro umbrella in black and white stripe - I lay in bed last night and had the vision for it.

Aah hard to decide.

sounds like a great project Clp.
I love the umbrella - stunning and stylish. I love Tolix stools but have 2 concerns: I would like a back to my chair so I could relax out on the deck and take our time to eat out there. Plus I worry about it being metal. Without a cushion you might burn your butt.

I'm thinking of getting the Tolix chairs instead as they are around the same price- this is not going to be a major hangout area its partly about looking good as its the front of the house. I was thinking of getting some black and white cushions as well and having a way of keeping the cushions and umbrella inside out of the weather.

Yes I saw the black and white umbrella- it is perfect. Some umbrellas come with a cover that you slip on when it is down. I think the chairs will be great. You can buy plastic boxes to store your outdoor cushions. KMart sell them sometimes. Your cushions sound gorgeous.. I love the idea of mixing up the colour of the chairs - very funky. So when are we all coming over for drinks on the deck???

And I think I will paint the old table with this:

Still can't decide on whether to do coloured/black/gal finish to chairs.

If I didn't have the table I have I would love to try this finish on one:
