alright. corned beef and black forest cake it is!
If i can't stand the corned beef.. i will eat cake .. ha. good trade wouldn't you say?

Well.. i made the corned beef. it was better than I expected but.. for the cost/time/effort.. i think i could have made a more interesting, more spellbinding meal ... but i would do it again in winter.

More impressive was the black forest mini cake I made. I saw one in the donna hay magazine (tenth anniversary edition) and muddled through to make my own. I did try and do her shard (but was impatient with the chocolate setting).. but the middle is bought chocolate cake (thick rich chocolate choc chip butter cake - it was perfect).. creme fraiche (the new one from bulla is a perfect dessert variety - whereas wattle valley is better for cooking and savoury).. and tinned cherries (cheating).. and then fresh top top.

It was GOOOD. and despite being mini it is so tall... we can scrape 4 pieces out of it

Great to hear it went well. Can I ask if A made you something...it seems like its always you doing the work.......did he come up with something special to spoil the spoiler?
