Actually looking at their website now I find them a bit too twee. I actually prefer australian kitchens to most American/european styles even if I prefer their other rooms.

Ok I am not a best guide as I wouldn't be considering a hamptons-style build but I do like the look in kitchens.

I just find so many american ones are a bit tizzy and even though sculleryandholz are australian they suffer from the same.

I went to see Just Better Bathrooms and kitchens....... I was able to talk through my kitchen and changed up heaps and worked a few ideas....
I am awaiting a quote......and very frightened $$$$...... I am having a very different style of cabinet door based loosely around this kitchen

http://www.justbetter.com.au/american-beauty.html

I was really happy with my design.....which I came up with and the lady worked out a best fit for door sizes etc..... I am going to get some handles from USA.....and have exposed hinged like an old fashioned or CHristopher P kitchen (but not the ice box handles as they are not practical...)

Which I could draw or have a plan in a computer program but I am not so swish so I hope my instincts are right as I can't really get your input....

What you can see in the link provided is the type of doors....

How exciting Rosie. The doors sound fabulous. Will the kitchen company do a 3D drawing for you? If not you can hire some people to do it for you. It's a great way to be sure of what you are getting.

If not, which kitchen/cabinet making company does similar work to his? So far, 'Provincial Kitchens' and 'Scullery and Holz' seems to be the closest I can find.....

Thanks!
Nooj, If you're still looking for cabinetry I would avoid Scullery and Holz if you can. I have had an incredibly bad experience trying to get an order fulfilled and don't want anyone else to go through the stress.

Just to let you all know I have been told recently that Scullery and Holz owned by Stefan Mayer has been placed into liquidation. Fair Trading have also received complaints against this company. If you are considering spending a large sum of money with any company we would suggest you do a thorough Google search.

Thats interesting - I remember I used to walk past their shop in Crows Nest when I first moved to Sydney and I always loved the look of it. Obviously badly run business though.

Julie-Ann,
Thanks for the post. After the very many complaints from unhappy customers of Stefan Mayer the Dept of Fair Trade has finally issued a statement on the affairs of the Scullery & Holz companies. It is at http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/Ab...interiors.html
In part is says:

‘Scullery & Holz’ customers
Contracts

Fair Trading is aware that not all Scullery & Holz contracts are with the company Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd. Consumers who have entered into a contract with ‘Scullery & Holz’ should check their contract do***ents to determine who their contract is with.

Customers who have a contract with Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd should contact the liquidator and register as creditors.

If you have an enquiry or complaint about Scullery & Holz contact Fair Trading on 13 32 20 or lodge a complaint or enquiry online.

Cheers
