Default Buit-in robes - sliding Vs hinged doors?

So, hinged doors are great for larger rooms and give you more access to the contents of the wardrobe... And sliding doors are better where space is at a premium and you do not need to access the full contents of your wardrobe regularly.

Now... our bedrooms are relatively big ... measuring 5m x 3.5m... However, you can never have too much space, right? ... and me being me... I like to be paranoid and over-think things *shy*

So what do you prefer, hinged or sliding doors? What style? Melamine, solid standard doors or custom made (kitchen cabinetry style)?

I always, always prefer swinging doors if it is at all possible.

The only reason I suggest sliding door is when the furniture would actually obstruct the door from swinging. The fact is you wouldn't put furniture in the space where doors would swing out anyway, because you still need to access the cupboard, so sliders don't save any room in that sense. Swinging doors give you better access to the cupboard, and look prettier as well.

Just my opinion, either option can look good!

I dont like mirrors on doors for the bedroom, as its not good fung shu. But thats personal choice, although saying that, some in the pics above look good. Id prefer sliding, it does save space

Mum has this set up and the top doors arent level with the bottom doors and they drive her nuts. Not to mention they swing out on their own. You want them attached to the big door, or have some really good hinges and catches.

With such good size rooms I would definately have hinged doors. They look so much nicer and more stylish than sliders.

Def depends on the size of the house first, then the overall style of the home. You're not going to put classic hinged molded doors in an ultra modern home (and I'd like to think the other way around too!).

I love both alternatives, when they are quality.

Lovely to see you again Annie

Luckily for us both hinged and sliding doors come in modern and traditional styles
