The shutters were on A-M's blog. As far as I know The Block paid for the shutters. It was part of their making the buildings green. Because I remarked to Katrina the only thing missing in the house to me was a/c. Then she reminded me that The Block was doing the whole green thing.
Funny thing about those shutters is I saw them in a magazine on the flight to Melbourne the day before going to The Block. I was so impressed that I said to DH I must make them the product of the week. I just have to ring them and ask a couple of questions. They are stunning looking.

I think that is the 5k worth of home system, 3k from their neighbours, 2k the dog challenge and the 1k wine and decanter...11k

I still agree dmplus that they do win the lounge room challenge as the art work is mind blowing and exactly what I was hoping at least 1 of the contestants do. I would have done exactly the same as the girls, took the biggest risk of buying that artwork...furniture was just not going to get them a win this week but art will!

I am going tomorrow to K and A's open house and CANNNOT WAIT

What got me, was that it specifically said Room Wins - $10 000!!! But then it only had $3000 for challenge wins. I think we've already realised that the people running the show (and FB page) aren't the sharpest tools in the shed

How Funny!

that means they would have won 2 more rooms.... maybe the lounge and the outside?
Those facebook comments are just the most STUPID unpleasant stuff I have ever had the misfortune to read. Some of those posters are soooooooooooooo DUMB that I dont even know how they manage to actually get air into their lungs to breathe

Anyhoo...I am going to see for myself their beautiful home tomorrow. I really want to see the artwork to tell you the truth.

Queue what queue?

I am visualising right at this minute just walking up to the door, the estate agent handing my a glossy brochue and walking straight in! (I really do live in make believe land LOL)

I have my camera and phone fully charged, money to buy coffee whilst I wait and maybe I will take a book to read. (Just have to find the closest toilet then I am all set)

Does anybody know if you are allowed to take pictures inside the houses this weekend?

Are you sure Stormy you dont want to come with me?

Well I went and saw Katrina and Amie's house and Rod and Tania's house

I got a photo of Tania and myself and Polly & Waz turned up as well.

Summary...Very interesting to see each individual room and the scale/size they had to work with.

Rod and Tania
Their front room was STUNNING and it was WOW. This surprised me a lot as the judges didnt like it. It was so beautiful that I actually wouldnt change a thing but move in. I do not understand at all why the judges didnt like it. Upstairs, the little study was a gigantic plus and I felt made the whole upstairs area very spacious and it gave that wow factor. Their bath and bed were also very nice. Downstairs, the part you havent seen yet was equally impressive but the outside area was done so beautifully. It was really hard to fault any part of the house part from the flooring perhaps but that hasnt been shown yet. Tania was so lovely and took photos with everybody.

katrina and Amie
What can I say without revealing too much but...the best part is yet to come The large picture they bought is unbelievable and their hallway would have to be one of the nicest I have seen in any house of that size. The estate agent gave me a brochure that had pictures of the kitchen, backroom and backyard. This is fantastic as I wasnt allowed to take pictures. The furniture and lighting in the unrevealed rooms are just AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I want, I want i want!!!
You can really tell they had help from those 2 hunky interior designers...it just looks perfect.
There were a few things I didnt like and could understand exactly why the judges were critical in some rooms. But, the hallway makes up for everything

Did anybody else go?

So glad you had a good time Mrs B. The back half of KandA's is amazing. I am glad you got to appreciate the hallway too. I was worried with all those people in the house the space and scale would be lost. Did you see J&J and P&W's homes as well?

yep, here too! Being in Perth we are behind and the FB page can give too much away. I only check it on challenge nights when Miss Nine has to go to bed and she wants to know who won!

I truly hope Katrina and Amie win tonight, that artwork is AMAZING! And they deserve a break.
