Default The Block - Hall & Lounge Room

Tonight we get another 2 areas revealed - the hallway and the lounge rooms. Let us know which room you like best and why. Personally I have my fingers crossed for K&A but I am biased.
The poll should be set up so you can vote for a hall and a lounge.

Yes I didn't like J&J's lounge area at all. Tonight I thought the judges actually got it right. And surprise, surprise now K&A have money to continue.

Overall I think K&A did the best job and I'm so pleased they won but I have to say, P&W's hallway wall was stunning.

As a qlder the wall in j &js didn't phase me but having seen his inspiration pic he got it wrong ( in the inspiration pic it made an inside outside feel which J didnt pull off.

Hated the sofa in R&T but loved their tile. The great wall of waz was a winner but hated their floor.

The girls positioned that artwork well and I loved how the blue line reflected the one in their first bedroom. FANTASTIC choice of artwork guys!! I would like to see more original work in the homes but they are $3k in front now and have gorgeous artwork!

Inam pleased the girl gOt a win. Yay for them winning the help earlier in the week and having the assistance of the lovely mr Jason. For hot tips and discounts at mark tuckey!

Love the girls' hall and lounge. Gorgeous artwork.... and that log coffee table was to die for. I have a wee bit of a tree 'thing', so I'd LOVE to have something like that in my home. I got straight onto the Mark Tuckey website and had a look at his stuff... beautiful.

Yay girls!!!!!

Yes, I agree. The judges actually did get it right tonight... I was worried there for a moment that the girls might just miss out. Very relieved for them! I also thought that blue stripe across the bottom of the painting married in well with the downstairs bedroom too, just perfect! Wonderful work

Must admit that I strongly disliked the K&A's log coffee table when they first showed them picking it up however was hoping it would look great in-sit-u...and it looked great. Feature of the room in my opinion. Told DH I wouldnt mind one too now, that went down like a tonne of bricks. Told me if I could get it from melb to bris and carry it into the house on my own then go for it. Dont think it will happen
Loved the 'great wall of waz'. We had/have similar bricks in our kitchen as our house is dble brick, whilst pulling off all the old horsehair plaster these beautiful bricks were exposed. The builder asked me if I wanted to keep it as a feature wall and not plaster over it and as much as I wanted to I wouldve had to re-configure my kitchen layout AGAIN plus I just wasnt sure if I really liked the idea of exposed brick in the kitchen above food prep benches, all I could think about was all the loose morter and dirt etc falling into my food. Of course I was ignorant at the time that they could be acid washed and sealed! Found that out after it was already plasterd. Oh well, we live and learn dont we.

I liked K and A's hallway the best, and their lounge room too, which is great because I felt the show wanted them to win so they could continue in the competition and I am very glad it turned out that the win was well earned. way to go girls I thought rod and tania's lounge was really nice too.

One thing that irks me a little about this show, and perhaps it is the editing, or perhaps because I have missed some episodes but... I don't see people haggling for things, when polly I think it was bought the heater she was just like "yep I'll take it", I personally would have been more like "whats the best price you can give me?" Same with the artwork, maybe they did knock down the price and they didn't show it, but then again I have never been to an art show before so it may not be the "done thing" to knock them down on price there ? yeah so I guess as somebody who is always trying to buy stuff on a shoestring budget it would have been nice to see some bartering every now and again. I don't believe rich people got rich by just paying through the nose every time.

There were 3 very good rooms last night & one which looked like they had never renovated/decorated before

K&A's was the stand out for me, it still had their style but they expressed it with a more sophisticated look that will really appeal to their market.

R&T's style is not what I would choose but the tiling looked lovely & gave a very modern look that suites that house but I do prefer floorboards in an old house.

P&W's wall was fantastic but hard to tell if the living room was laking furniture or the space is small because of what they are doing with the kitchen dining.

J&J really missed the mark, they were adventurous with colour but it didn't suit the panelling & the furniture looked like they left it until the last minute, I also don't like adding faux heritage features like the archway. Did I notice in the preview the panelling being removed?
