Default Big Room Take Two WDYT??

Ok well some of you will remember my big room dilemma aka ugly black shelves (got rid of one of them into the laundry (which is actually good as its up against the wall- so you don't actually see it when you go in . So I've been thinking more about this big room and also trying to see if I could also still have it as a studio space/viewing room- while still allowing it to be space for the kids. So I've drawn up a rough plan would love to hear your thoughts and please raise any issues you might think of.
So primarily the kids spot would also work for clients kids when they visit. Clients would enter via the court yard straight in near the keyboard -which is near that chair there.
The sofa will be a sofa bed so can be used for guests- and also I can push it back into the kids area if i need more shooting distance (assuming all the toys will be picked up and put into storage hahahah).

The thing behind the backdrop stand is a LCD/PLASMA/projection screen mounted on wall (this won't happen just yet...thinking ahead)

Got to go as dinner is ready but let me hear your thoughts...not sure if you will be able to read my annotations but will explain more later.

Thanks so much everyone.

So I get you are trying to create a separate area for the kids to play - which is a great idea. Do you need to see them? Would the Expedit bookcase block your visibility of them too much? Just because I know they are little ones.
I also would think about putting a cupboard with doors in the playroom area rather than another bookcase. Just because you can stuff all the toys in there and close the doors - less mess. Plus your guests could have some hanging space there too.
I would try to move the sofa towards the courtyard door a bit. But that is simply because I like things symmetrical. So if you don't just ignore me.
Do you need the white bookcase on castors? I think I prefer the idea of that being open. And there is a lot of storage in this room already.
I like the idea of the keyboard and chair. I like where the sofa is too.
You might like to also use rugs to define the spaces. So a rug in the kids area and a rug in front of the sofa - if it doesn't get in the way when your working.
Do you want a coffee table or side tables?

Thanks JA,

The expedit bookcases will be open cubes with some doors...and no I definately DON'T need to see them HAHAHHAHA. (kidding relax people!).

Yes re the bookcases/i meant storage in there...just trying to work out if there is anything from IKEA that would work in with other pieces. (suggest me something!)

I was thinking I want a lowish something on castors- because I want it as a kind of table/desk/something (but with storage) that I could move if necessary for clients to if they came to a viewing (if we even go this way...but I don't want to rule it out just yet) and put drinks on etc. Not sure about this.

I like symmetry too - don't worry will do what I can that way I was just trying out the program and working out that yes the sofa should face that way. (originally I had thought the other way but this way makes more sense)

Yes there would be rug in kids part...not so sure about where the sofa is...because when I use as shooting space I'd prefer not to move stuff.

Sometimes I think I am trying to make this room too multifunctional!

Can I ask what will you use for the keyboard area? A desk of some kind?

Sorry I am so stupid- the keyboard is actually a musical keyboard. (its on its own stand)..its a nice place for DD to practice it... previous place we had it in her room- but I always wanted it to be a communal thing if you get what I mean. I thought about putting it in kids area but her music teacher says its good there- plus I don't really want it there if smaller kidlets about.

I don't think you have the width to have the desk there. You would be looking at around 2.5 -3mt for the length of the sofa. Then you want the walkways either side of the sofa to be a minimum of .750 to ideally 1mt wide. That's basically your total width. You could combine the desk and bookcase by having a desk with a bookcase on top of it like a hutch.
