What a fantastic house

That kitchen must have been fantastic in its day, I'm sure you will come up with a brilliant design for reusing the cabinets.

I decided to paint the entry/living/kitchen space in grey (Dulux Tranquil Retreat), and to tide us over until we decided what to do with the kitchen I painted everything glossy white.

I took the mismatched glass out of the top cabinets and painted the inside grey to make some feature shelving (leaving the plain glass in the cabinets on the right for glass storage).

The backsplashes in the kitchen also didn't match, so I used a laminate paint to paint them white as well.

I have been slowly filling the tops of the shelves with art, accessories and other bits and pieces - it feels much more homely and interesting with some things along the top!

My dining table was my grandparents - it is a beautiful old beat up piece with castor wheels, and the black chairs are mid-century steel chairs I found at a vintage store and spraypainted.

They just have living room cushions thrown on at the moment until I choose a fabric to make proper seat cushions.

That looks fantastic, I'd be very reluctant to change it to a modern layout. You've got great ideas so I'm sure you can style your living room so it works with the kitchen/dining

Well I was very excited last night to win an auction on eBay for an old chandelier. It will take pride of the place in the kitchen over the dining table!

I've been looking for a new chandelier for a long time and could never find anything that fit; I think this will be perfect, a bit different and eclectic and of a similar era to the house itself.

I just need to decide know whether to leave it as is or spray paint it. I have been tossing up with a darker charcoal grey (there is another dark pendant light going into the living room and it is an open place area) or even white to make it feel more modern.

Some ideas I've been eyeing off...

The other pendant in the room (soon to be) is a large Moroccan lantern I posted home from my trip. It has been sitting in a box until now, and will finally be hung!
