3 Clocks on the Wall
What do you think of this idea? I am thinking of getting 3 small clocks to replace our 1 clock in the kitchen/family area. The reason is so I can have a clock for Perth time, a clock for what ever time it is where DH is travelling, and a 3rd clock because I like 3 better than 2. If Mr18 gets in to ANU then I will set it to Canberra time. If not I will set it to Paris time - as Paris is... well Paris .
It can be a pain to try and keep up with what time it is where DH is. And then Katrina did the 5 clocks on The Block. Then I saw 2 clocks done in Real Living this month. I was thinking of using the small clock (17cm) in this range from Provincial.
What do you think?

I love the idea, JA. I've actually considered it a number of times myself, but we only ever really need two timezones, and I would also want three clocks!
Would having the three different clocks do your head in too much in terms of symmetry? The three there look really cool. Or even, one of the largest clock and two of the smallest clock... Am I killing you here?
The large clock could have local time on it, and then the smaller two with the other required times. Large one on the left, then two small ones, one above the other, on the right.

I'd go those exact three in the different sizes, they'd look great arranged properly on a wall.

How gorgeous would these look in your kitchen!!!! So am I right in saying that you don't have provincial living in WA..............does that mean you are coming cross country for your clocks? We could always send them to you....

What a lovely idea J.A. I've seen contemporary ones at our local gift shop with Paris, and other time zones.

Oh I like the idea of a big one and 2 small ones. DH is very unsure of this idea. He looked at me like I was nuts. I am sure there are many of you that know that look too . I will have to run a few of these ideas past him. It is not a very wide wall and the thermostat for the a/c is on there too - so I need to be careful of the sizes.
I have seen them where they have 3 clocks together. But they usually name the other cities. I want the flexibility of choosing the location as DH travels from Europe- India- America-Sydney.
Yes Lorraine is right I can buy them online and because they are so light the freight shouldn't be too bad.
Stay tuned

I've always loved this idea and have wanted to do it myself. There's a set of clocks (I think it's about 5) I've seen a few times over the years that has some major cities of the world (the name is on the clock somewhere - Paris, New York, London, Sydney etc) and each clock is set to that time.
I think your clocks will look absolutely brilliant! DH will concede how great they look once he sees them on the wall I am sure.
Linda.

DH loved the concept but hated the clocks . He wants clocks that are framed, old fashioned but not rustic or worn looking at all. He said he would have a look around town. At which point I reminded him that I had just been to a fair where all the major wholesalers (ie suppliers to the shops in town) had their displays. If I couldn't find a clock there he is not likely to find one in town.
So a compromise until the perfect clock is made to suit this fussy man - I am going to paint the silver rim of this clock an off white. I think then it will be a bit more elegant and not as prominent for him. Let's hope he is happy with this.
