Question 10kg Washing Machines

Hi All

I am keen to purchase a 10 kilo washer.

LG have one that is a top loader with awful reviews plus I had the 8kg one and loathed it selling it within 4 mths of purchase and loosing near $500 on it.

There are a couple of front loading ones coming on to the market but I am keen to know if any one may have a 10kg washer or knows someone that does.

The front loaders are not cheap $1500 - 1900 and the top loader is $1100.

I don't know though if it will better the system I have where I have a 8kg top loader and 7kg front loader - both Samsung.... I am just so sick of washing washing washing....

One of the front loaders is a Samsung and has a 15 minute quick wash, which I think is perfect for towels that have only been used to dry yourself....

The other brands I know of are Whirlpool and Panasonic.

cheers

I just checked on Choice and Samsung 7.5kg front loaders get good reviews. But they didn't have anything on Panasonic or Whirlpool.

What about Bosch? They are very reasonably priced I think.

Have you considered getting two 6kg ones instead? If you've got room that is... That way you could have lights and darks going at the same time ...

TruthfulLies the Panasonic sounds good and is certainly a large capacity. I agree though with theisme about looking at a Bosch front loader. They are reasonably priced and very good quality washers. I have one and it is fantastic.

I too have one of the 8kg, top loader LG models, just recently purchased.

To say I'm bitterly disappointed would be an understatement. I too purchase mine to take care of all the large loads I was doing. With 4 children and a DH, there is a hell of a lot of washing! However if I do use the full 8kg [which you think is what its designed to do] then the clothes still come out dirty. I now have to cut down to just normal size loads that I was doing in my 6kg.

Great idea about purchasing 2 6kg! Wish I had thought of that.

I am not a front loader fan at all.

Sadly I was told recently that Bosch dishwashers and washing machines are being made in Thailand instead of Germany. It is by the same company so hopefully the quality isn't effected as they have such a great reputation.
