What do you think would be the most common renovations people have done to their home?
This is what I think would be the most common:
1.Kitchen
The reason why I specialise in renovating kitchens is there is always plenty of work around. After 10-15 years many people will look at renovating their kitchen. It is the most complicated room in the house to renovate as there are so many details to consider. One of the most important is traffic flow. Renovating your kitchen can make your home a lot more sellable and liveable.
2.Bathroom
The other room I like to renovate:) Bathrooms are similar to the kitchen, after 10-15 years they can start to look tired. There are so many stylish products for the bathroom being released each year it becomes very tempting to renovate.
3.Alfresco
We have the perfect climate for having a fabulous outdoor area. Many home owners are adding Alfresco areas that are accessed directly from the house. We are seeing more outdoor kitchens being included in these renovations.
4.Open Plan
In older homes a simple renovation is to knock down a wall or two to make an open plan living area. Be sure to have a licensed builder check the wall is not structural. Don’t think just because a wall is small it won’t be structural.
5. Family/ Dining/ Kitchen Extension
With smaller older homes a common renovation is to add on a large Family/ Dining/ Kitchen Extension to the back of the house. Some of these extensions are magnificent and add a lot of value to a property.
So they are what I think are the 5 most common renovations people under take..
