View Full Version : Carpet query
We are buying new carpets for our theatre room. Wool are the most expensive but are they as hard wearing and easy to clean as the nylon carpets?

I wish there was a perfect solution to this problem - I keep searching.
Wool is great, it feels lovely. Unfortunately, it soaks up all natural made stains such as wine, fruit juice, coffee etc. It is like natural wool products it literally soaks up the stain.
Synthetic products are not a lot better. They will bleach from chemical products. My own carpet a Stainmaster carpet bleaches (yellow or orange stains) from the moisturizer I put on my feet. I have tried different brands but they all seem to do it. Makes you wonder what is in the moisturizer! So I walk around in socks or slippers all the time. It also reacts to most ointments.
Because it is in a home theatre room I would probably go for something like a Stainmaster as you are less likely to go in there in the morning with moisturizer on your feet, but you are more likely to eat or drink in there.
Good Luck.:)

We have a polyproplene carpet in our rental unit. It is awful. Even dirty feet leave terrible marks that i can only get out by having the carpets professionally cleaned. So most of the time the carpets look awful. My carpet cleaner said the carpet is a cheap polyproplene sisal carpet. So buy a better quality than this cheap carpet.
