Reproduction 1950’s vintage bus scrolls and tram scrolls are the latest trend in home decor and I know how much the Decorating Forum members love them:D.

I have come across a company that was personalising the trend and putting a bit of a twist on it. ROC Destinations + Scrolls produce personalised custom bus destination scrolls. They look just like the commercial routes, but they are your own journey through life.

So I contacted this creative company to ask a little more about their bus scrolls and how did the company come about. Martin from Roc Destination & Scrolls told me “there has been a great surge in the number of bus scrolls we are printing for our customers and overseas companies to deliver within Australia ... we felt it was a great opportunity and the new website makes ordering very easy.

Some of the most popular custom vintage bus scrolls we have had so far are ones that are the most personal - the ‘everywhere I have lived scroll’ or ‘my amazing overseas trip’ vintage bus scroll. We put destinations on the map that mean something to you.”

Ordering a custom destination scroll is simple, just head to www.busandtramscrolls.com.au (http://www.busandtramscrolls.com.au/) and include your destinations in your order. You will receive a proof via email and once it is approved your new scroll will be ready for delivery in just four working days.

All bus scrolls are printed to ROC Gallery’s high standards on the choice of either canvas or authentic cotton, and because they are coming straight from the manufacturer there is also a significant price saving.

For more information about ROC Destinations + Scrolls, personalised bus + tram scrolls, go to www.busandtramscrolls.com.au (http://www.busandtramscrolls.com.au/) or contact ROC Gallery + Print Studio on 07 3368 1390.

I think you will agree when you look at these photos of their bus scrolls they are stunning.

So what would you put on your bus scroll?

I liked the places I have lived idea. That would be a way to pass on a little history of our lives to Mr16.

I love bus rolls, but do worry that they've been done to death a little.

My BF's sister has an AMAZING original tram roll [from Melbourne] which I'm totally jealous of and would steal in a heartbeat. It really suits the feel and style of her home, which I think is key to selecting such a statement piece.

Really love the idea of being able to customise - and it would be a lovely gift for a member of the family as a keepsake / memory piece to share all the history of past homes.

These certainly are popular. A client commented the other day that they saw them on 'the good wife' on TV (channel 10 on a sunday night) and thought of us.

I don't know that I would want a stock standard bus scroll from a local bus route but having your own personalised one certainly gives it more meaning. www.busandtramscrolls.com.au did the one we have in our living room and we love it. We went the cotton sheeting option and it fits the room perfectly.
It is large.. it think getting the scale right is important to the overall finished look.

I highly recommend them - super easy to work with, awesome finished product and the quality is second to none.

It's good to know you are so happy with the quality Lanne because that was the second thing I noticed about them. The first being how original and different they were. Now where could I put one in my house???:D

*looooooooooooooooooooooove!*

Speaking of overdone though, if I walk into one more house that has a framed or teatoweled 'Keep Calm and Carry On"..... I mean, I really love them, but geeze, every house? Made me glad I got distracted and forgot to buy one when I first saw them long long ago..

Although I must find for you the personalised ones I saw recently on a photog.blog - they were for kids .. so funny .. must find ... BBL...

Sounds intriguing:D. When you find it pop it under a new thread in General Decorating & Handy Tips so no one misses it.

I think 'words' in general have been done to death, so many houses have 'peace' 'believe' etc etc...I too am guilty but mine is just a script "laundry"...in the laundry (where else...lol) as I had a large expanse of wall and couldnt come up with anything else...I have artwork in there so needed something else...anyway, yup, I'm over words

Lol maybe I am behind the times I am only just considering putting the word Dream in the bedroom. Plus I don't have a bus scroll yet. I love the idea of something that is traditional but modern and being able to make them personal. I don't see them dating too quickly because they look so good with so many different styles.

I have wanted to buy one of these for some time. I think they look sophisticated.
