French door handles

I have a lovely new house but with round silver door handles. My dream was to replace them with black french style handles but they are mostly narrow and wouldn't cover the hole the round ones have underneath. The round ones are 63 mm wide diameter where the french ones Ive seen are about45mm wide. Any suggestions?
