Hi, a few weeks ago our stairwell was repainted and it has given me the opportunity to re-arrange my photos.
Do you think these layouts look okay? I've spent a good part of the morning trying to work it out and get some symmetry happening!
If you think it looks okay which one do you prefer? I'm heading towards #1...I think......

Hi TDD, hows you, pics look good. I like no 2 senario, a little more even. But theres not too much in it, it would look good both ways, what colour are your walls. We had ours painted a while back and i hvent hung anything as yet.
This looks good though.

I'm a bit frazzled today Susie.....but getting there ;) Thanks. How are you?
Our walls are Chalk Beige, it's a Wattyl colour. Frames are brown but have a darker fleck in them, like a Wenge. The wall the photos are going on is opposite a window which has a Chocolate Roman. Ballustrade and skirting etc is white. Our downstairs floor is Wenge and carpet is similar to the wall colour.
Are you happy with your paint?
I was leaning towards #1 because it has 4 photos on either side :D

Hi, both are good, yes i see what you mean. It was the 2 sets of 2 together which didnt look as good. Buy hey when you have put them up, you can always reorganise them, if you didnt like it.
Yes i do like my colour, but its not the best for putting wall art or pics on. Im going to fill it with family photos too in white frames, but just need some time to do this.

Hi TTD nice to see you:)
My vote is no 2 as well. I think the reason is that with the very end pictures you have the single long picture and the 2 small pictures. The long picture gives the appearance of having more weight to it than the 2 small pictures. And it seems more natural that as you go up the stairs the heavier item should be further away. Does that make any sense? I promise I haven't been drinking in the middle of the day lol, I am obviously just not very articulate at the moment:D
But love to hear what others think.
Thanks for posting the topic:).

I think either is fine (i was more leaning towards 1 but saying so is inhelpful. ;) as others are picking 2)
Use 3M command strips to hang them and if you dont like it.. no harm done :) you can easily move them without damage!

I am also thinking the second layout, I have looked at it a few times and agree with Julie-Ann, it ws my first thought when I first saw them earlier on this afternoon. Go TWO!!!!! :)

To be honest I would like to see a picture of the wall these are going on....and what other things are near or around and how big the room is ....but then I'm a complete nut ROFL......
in terms of pure layout without considering the above factors ...I'd go two...the two larger photos on the end solidify the look more and kind of acts as a border for the collection if that makes sense....

Thanks for your replies. I'll have a read through soon. I've been really sick for the past 3 weeks and still don't feel up to sitting here :(
